Lindsey Marie Popelas was born on September 6, 1983 to Barbara (DiFilippo) Popelas and Andrew Popelas of Roscoe, PA. From a very young age, Lindsey dreamed of being a teacher. She spent several hours when she was young perfecting the teacher walk in her mom’s high heels and utilized her older sister as her student.
Her best quality was building relationships with others and making everyone feel special and included!
Lindsey was the sister to both Chaley (Popelas) Knight and Dude Popelas. Lindsey spent years performing at Shirley Dean’s School of Dance where she performed her first solo at the mere age of 6.
Lindsey loved to play sports but also enjoyed cheering for sporting events. In high school she played both volleyball and basketball. Lindsey loved spending time with her friends and had a very strong faith. Lindsey was a member of Saint Joseph Church and attended St. Thomas Aquinas during her college years.
Lindsey attended California University of Pennsylvania for 3 years and during this time was part of their Christian Fellowship and Dance Team. Lindsey also worked in the Student Welcome Center.
Lindsey LOVED spending time with friends and enjoying the simple pleasures in life; finding a bargain while shopping, painting her fingernails to match her outfit, Singing in the car with the windows rolled down, laughing at herself, going to church, and the taste of pickles and steak salads. Her favorite was butterflies and the color purple. However, her best quality was building relationships with others and making everyone feel special and included!
